And it can be home cook by using fresh crushed tomatoes, olive oil, tomato paste, tomato sauce, dried oregano, pepper flakes under 30 minutes with the help of a food processor.
While making homemade pizzas, I like using this easy Pizza Sauce Recipe on my dough and toppings like red pepper, olives, mushrooms et al.

 Ingredients :

1. 6 large tomatoes
2. 1 tsp finely chopped garlic
3. 1/2 tsp dried oregano
4. 1/2 cup chopped onion
5. 1 tsp dry red chili flakes
6. 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
7. 1 tbsp olive/vegetable oil/1 tbsp butter
8. salt and sugar to taste
9. vinegar
10. 4-5 basil leaves

Procedure :

1. Boil 2 cups water in a pan. Make a cross cut on the tomatoes at its base, so that you can easily remove the skin after boiling. This process is called 'blanching'. Place them in boiling water till the skin starts to peel off.

2. Drain the water, de-seed tomatoes, remove skin, roughly chop it and put it in a blender. Keep aside this smooth tomato puree.

3. Heat butter in a flat pan. Add garlic and saute on a medium flame for few seconds.

4. Add chopped onions and chopped sprig of celery(optional, but gives a rich aroma), saute on medium flame for 1-2 mins.

5. Add the prepared tomato puree and other dry masalas, saute it. Add tomato ketchup, sugar to balance the sourness, and stir occasionally on a medium flame for 2-3 mins. Add 2 tsp of vinegar and stir till it makes a thick paste.
*Store this sauce in an air-tight container and use when required. Vinegar acts as preservative.
