Pizza : Recipe from Left-over Roti/Bread at Home

Last week I watched Anthony Bourdain’s documentary 'Wasted! The Story of Food Waste'. The chef in the film came up with such creative dishes from food that would otherwise have gone to waste. I  found the film very inspiring. So, since watching that, I’ve the idea of utilizing food waste on my brain.
As I started cooking off with scraps, I realize how much my cooking has changed since I took on the challenge of eliminating my waste. Cooking with every last little bit makes cooking more fun and creative. In this situation of lockdown, when we are surviving with minimal culinary things, let's try this recipe. Hope you will like this. You can also try this with bread.

Ingredients :

1. Roti from Scrap
2. Red pizza-sauce
3. Salt to taste
4. Olive/Vegetable oil - 6-7 drops
5. Vegetables of your choice
6. Mushroom and chicken(optional)
How to prep pizza before baking
7. Seasoning
8. Boiled sweetcorn

Preparation :

Method I :

1. Heat the pan.

2. Take previously cooked chapatis.

3. Take few drops of oil on pan, warm the oil & place the roti on it and let it become little crispy. Now, take the roti back and let it cool down. It will taste like thin crust pizza.

4. Apply Pizza sauce on top.

5. Add Capsicum, Onion, Sweetcorn, Cheese and basil leaves as Toppings or as you like.

6. Sprinkle salt and seasoning.

7. Take few drops of oil in the pan. Put the 'roti-pizza' on it, and cover it.

Let Cheese melt in the steam.

8. 'Roti-pizza' will get crispy in 7-8 minutes.
Vegetable topping will become partially soft but crunchy. So, you can previously boil the vegetables.
Ensure pizza is placed on rack for 1-2 minutes so it doesn’t get soft.

9. Cut the pizza & have it.

Don’t wait. Bon Appetite!!!

Method II :

1. Follow the steps till 6. Then place a medium height sauteuse pan on medium flame. Put salt at the base of pan place 2-3 metal stand on salt bed.

2. Place the roti-pizza on metal stand. Cover the lid and wait till the cheese melt and vegetables become soft. Cut the 'roti pizza' and consume.
